The most numerous group of the Artistic Association "Nikola Tesla" from its beginning tries to preserve the picturesque folklore of the peoples of the region. With the richness of dances, harmony of movements, vivid rhytms of the national dances of Serbia, and ex Yugoslavia, the young members of the Ensemble gained lots of sympathies and ovations on innumerous concerts.

The Ensemble represented with dignity the cultural heritage of our peoples in every place the concert was held.
On our trips to the countries of Europe the Ensemble has gained lots of prizes.

The Ensemble of Folklore performs the following coreographies:

  •    Dances of Serbia
  •    Yelashnitsa (surroundings of the city Nish)
  •    Dances of Vlakhs
  •    Dances of Chopes
  •    Motives of Banat
  •    Gypsies dances
  •    Komite (Macedonia)
  •    Vranje suite

Each coreography is made with original national costumes, authentic music and dances of certain area.

Orchestra

 


The Orchestra and the Ensemble of Folklore make an unseparable unity on the concerts and festivals of folklore. Sounds of the Orchestra accompany dances of the Ensemble.
The Orchestra in its artistic work uses following instruments: the accordion, the violin, the acoustical guitar, the bass, "frula" (type of flute), the clarinet and "goch" (national instrument similar to drum).

Besides the Orchestra and the Ensemble there are vocal soloists who complement an artistic pleasure. They have on their repertoire original folk songs, that are preserved nowadays as well.
